Summer in Colorado

The clear days and crisp nights of the Colorado mountains might just be the perfect family getaway this summer. With Covid-19 still with us, Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) member ski areas are working with local health officials to implement a range of procedures to keep both guests and employees safe.


Telluride


Beautifully preserved downtown streets and Victorian homes set the scene for Telluride’s eclectic shopping and dining district. Wander the galleries and shops in town under beautiful blue skies, surrounded by the majestic San Juan Mountains. Cyclists and hikers can venture off in every direction; other summer activities include fly fishing, rock climbing, horseback riding, para-gliding and 4 x 4 off-roading.


Aspen/Snowmass – Jeremy Swanson


Aspen/Snowmass The Aspen Mountain Gondola and the Sundeck are open! Snowmass Bonus Nights allow evening access to the Lost Forest and the expanded bike park. Dining is open at Elk Camp Restaurant.


Purgatory Resort


Activities at Purgatory Resort include the Inferno Mountain Coaster, alpine slide, mountain biking, chairlift rides, and paddleboard and boat rentals. The Shangri-La mountain bike trail is now complete and provides access to fantastic terrain for riders of all levels. Activity tickets start at $25 for a half-day session and must be purchased in advance online.


Steamboat Resort


Steamboat Ski Resort is open for modified summer operations on weekends with lots to enjoy: the Outlaw Mountain Coaster, Maverick mini-golf course, scenic gondola rides, the Steamboat Mercantile retail store, dining on the Oasis Sun Deck at Thunderhead Lodge and Timber & Torch Grill in the base area. The Steamboat Grand has reopened to guests and is now accepting reservations.

Summer in the crisp mountain air of the Grand Mesa at Powderhorn Mountain Resort. The Powderhorn Bike Park, Flat Top Flyer chairlift and the Sunset Grill and The Umbrella bar are welcoming guests.


Copper Mountain- Under Armour Running Series- Myke Hermsmeyer


Copper Mountain is open for hiking, biking, yoga and golf, as well as full day instruction within the discipline of your choice (ski, snowboard, skate, BMX, scooter) at the renowned Woodward Copper Learning Center. Family friendly drive-in movies screen Saturdays through September 26th.

The gondola at Winter Park Resort provides access to scenic mountaintop hiking trails. Guided Cirque hikes, E-Bike Tours, are available and the base-area shops are open. You can also take a scenic chair lift ride, guided wallflower hike or practice yoga at Arapahoe Basin.
